I think I had the vaccine in early November.
This Saturday I had a mild sore throat that lasted about 10-14 hours. Sunday I began running a fever that lasted until late Tuesday. For two+ days my temp ran up to about 102F. I had to take an nsaid to knock it down. I had no other symptoms other than an occasional twinge of mild pain in my lower right abdomen which I thought might be my appendix, but this disappeared before the fever. I am not sure it was the flu, but this is a high probability .
I had the flu before in about 1998 without the vaccine and it was a lot worse. I caused me to have a major outbreak of fever blisters that covered my chin and was probably reactivated Herpes simplex since influenza lowers the immune response. I never had fever blisters that bad before.

This kind of reminds me of the Spanish flu epidemic of 1918 where young adults died in unexpected numbers.

In this series we are going to investigate and learn the basic rudimentary skills of understanding this lingo.
