I tried to donate to a horse rescue once. I had about 10 tons that needed to be moved. They said they would take it. They showed up with one of their friends with their friends equipment and hauled a load. They weren't getting it done so I hauled them a load. A few weeks went by and they hadn't done anything. I then called a friend and sold it to him for a wholesale price. Contacted the horse rescue and told them the hay was gone and could they send me a receipt so I could get a write off. It never came.
Another time I hauled a load to another horse rescue. They didn't have money. I had to wait while they went to a bank machine. Then they gave me a sob story about how they didn't have money and how hard it was to care for the horses. Then they proceeded to tell me about their 10k stallion they had rescued. I told them great, you can sell him to help feed these other horses. She said " O no! We are going to breed him and show him!"
