BP oil co in Delaware county late 70's went on strike for 16 mths. went back to work for way less than were offered before the strike and lot less benefits, they eventually sold the place it was shut down for a year so certain employees did not have recall rights hired back who they wanted,they are trying to sell now or will eventually shut down.
Westinghouse in Delaware county mid. 70's had one to many wildcat strikes company shut the plant down several thousand people lost their jobs. the company still operates in a different fashion but no union doing better than ever.
York county Caterpillar they had the highest paid people in all of York county higher than Harley Davidson people, they tried to hammer cat and cat shut down the plant they left about 15 people to run the inventories.several thousand lost their jobs there.
there are more instances but i don't have time, these people aren't stupid they know how to get around onion problems the trouble is the people who are members today are not the same as the old time members, the old timers they had an agreement they honored it and lived up to it.
i can remember sun oil went on strike and the union dynamited the gas lines right next hyway 95 ... Steve the unions do not5 have a good name anymore............
