: : : Well my 1951 CA,which is my first tractor,is going to run.Although I don't have a carb yet,I sprayed some gas in the manifold, and cranked her over, and pow!!It was froze up when I got her,but she now has new rings, valves, clean radiator, and gas tank, etc.I'm hoping someone can tell me what kind of fluid(modern stuff)to put in the tranny, diff,.I want to change this before I do any driving.Manual I have is not real specific. Thanks Mick : There is an article on that, I'll bet HyTran is the way to go. I use it in everything Hy-tran is great stuff and would do the job of lubricating very well, but, unless you have replaced all the seals it will probably leak somewhere. The oil these tractors had in them was pretty thick. I would use the thickest gear oil you can find sae140-sae250. sae 90 is too thin.
