Lets try the following to see if it can be set right. Do not take it off of the engine. The oil can be drained from the pump from below (usually a petcock or plug) the side plate can be removed removing injector lines (from both ends) allows them to be taken out of the way (don't bend them out of the way). Removal of the big hex nut cover, and the fuel line fittings (where the lines were removed) will allow the top od the pump to be removed. This gains access to the internal components. You will see the plunger assembly on the right and a control rack that spins the sleeve to change the injection amount. the 4 holes to the left are a distributor system and usually give no problem. Use lacquer thinner on a small artists brush to wet the moving parts of the plunger and rack. keep it dampened with thinner and work the rack with the lever to apply pressure back and forth. DO not use force on the system, just enough to make it feel that it should move. Keep at it till things start to let go. Then use a thin oil like 3-N-1 to further lube the plunger control sleeve. WHen things seem free, you can put it back together. I have no sources for parts, I sold My MD 19 years ago, and fixed it 23 years ago. A Blue ribbon (IH) repair manual has all the details. I used a skim coat of permatex #2 for sealing up the top cover and side cover after making a gasket for the side cover. Take digital pictures of everything and be clean as can be. Fill it with engine oil to the site glass or level plug/petcock. 15W-40 diesel grade Rotella or Delo are my favorites. This is really all I have to offer and when it is written, it can be looked at more than once. Jim

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Not a place one would associate with farms or farm machinery. I credit my parents for instilling a lot of good values, a respect for learning, a knowledge of various skills and a little knowledge of farming in me, amo
