Not really, I am 79 and we have always in the coldest years still had a January thaw. It was just as troublesome when I was in High school milking cows and carrying bags of feed from the trailer to the self feeders for 500 hogs digging trenches with the tractor to get there. Picking corn with a two row new idea picker that the elevator was 90º to the rows. Two tractors on the picker and two tractors on the wagon to get thru the slimy clay. Fond memories of working together with neighbors to get the corn in the crib because it was just what needed to get done if you were to make a living for all involved. Never did much thinking about whether it was someone else's fault that is crappy out back then. It was what it was so we dealt with it. Much that same as I do now except I didn't need a walker back then. I also didn't have you people to complain to so I can recount the past. As a kid I would have been told lets get the animals tended to so we can all eat.
