IN about 1968 I tried to move the Steamer with a D John Deere and a M IHC, the ground was soft, My wife at that time saw my buddy and me tryin to move the steamer with the two tractors. She left so I had a brain storm, I had 150 feet of 1/2 rope, I put a Jim Dandy lawn tractor in front of the Steamer in line with the drive pulley on the Steamer, next I wrapped the rope about 10 turns around the Steamer flywheel and left plenty of slack in the rope , then I tied the rope to the Jim Dandy, I put both of the lawn tractor transmissions in low gear and the throttle at idle. Next I hurried back to the Steamer and held tension on the loose end of the rope that was around the flywheel. Much to my surprise, the Steamer actually came out of the mud, I had to re hook the Jim Dandy and the rope several times. I never told the wife the truth. Maybe that is the reason she left me in 1974.
