: The piston is at top dead center.I have tried everything short of busting it to lossen it but it will not budge. This is a Farmall H 1948.Ant help would be appreciated. If you have an air chisel, cut out a round piece from at least 1/2" plate steel. Weld a large nut into the middle of the round piece you have fabricated, Just large enough to accomidate the end of a tool that has been cut off round at the business end . Place the disc on top of the piston and insert the air chisel bit into the welded on nut and vibrate away. If possible have someone put pressure on the flywheel to try to turn the crank as you are vibrating the piston. I sort of invented this process years ago and since then I have never had to resort to ruining a piston. You may still have to take the piston out after you get it unstuck as the rings may well be stuck. Sometimes you can get stuck rings out by heating the piston . this can be done by placing the piston on a 100 watt bulb to heat it other ways of heating might work but be sure not to melt it. I liked the idea of building a fire on top of the piston with kero and a wick. that might work in some instances. Good luck!
