I have attended many auctions to find equipment for my used farm machinery business and I agree about the non-bidders who want to just visit can be a pain. Often they talk so loud that you can not hear the bid. If you tell them that you are trying to bid on an item they ask you what is it worth or try to tell you their experience with a similar item.
If you would like to experience that circus plan to attend one of the big spring auctions that are booked for February and March. Mac Fadden has their auction in mid March and it will bring out all of the people that have been experiencing cabin fever so the crowd will be huge. If you attend and see an item that you wish to bid on just stand by it until the auction gets there. I usually skip that one and wait to attend their next one.
Fred Goodrich has an auction next month and it too will be well attended but the crowds there seem to be politer and more of them will be bidders. I will be attending that auction if I do not get snowed in.

After numerous dead ends for a replacement carb, I went to work fixing mine.I soldered new floats on the float arm, they came from an old motorcycle carb, replaced the packing on the throttle shaft with o-rings, cut new ga
