Rusty... I can enlighten you a little. I, too have a channel (listed below)... And have gotten the same e-mail that many others have gotten lately. If I do not have 1000 subscribers, and a minimum of 4000 hours of watch time per year, I will no longer be able to be a YouTube partner... What does that mean for me? I won't be getting a $100 check every few months.. It ain't much, but it is something. As I am sure you can appreciate, a lot of effort goes into making these videos. So a little check once in a while doesn't hurt. At least I can buy a new tool or something when I break one.
As far as becoming a YouTube Partner. You receive I think it is 1/8 of a cent per click, or something to that effect. YouTube (effectively Google), then sends you a check after your revenue has hit a minimum of $100. On my channel, it typically takes me 3-4 months to get $100 or so.. But, I am not in it for the money. I am in it to share the tractor hobby and connect with others around the world! I am also amazed at which videos get the most views. Most of my tractor videos rarely get above 2000 views.. But a couple other videos I have (motorcycle and truck related) have gotten well over 100k views. My channel as a whole has generated nearly 600k views in my 8-10 years on YouTube. Pretty amazing. What I also find interesting is you can see where in the world your videos are being watched! Denmark, South America, Australia, etc. THAT is COOL to me.
It's a pretty simple process to be come a Partner. Essentially, Google then places ads on your videos - they use your channel as a billboard.
Upload one or more videos to your post. Photo filesizes should be less than 300K and Videos, less than 2MB. Formats allowed are gif, jpg, png, ogg, mp4, mov, and avi. Be sure to use filenames without spaces or special characters, and filetypes of 3 digits lower case.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
