Allen's IH tractor and the 2294 are totally different animals. The 2294 is a totally Case built tractor, and Allan's 88 series was a 100% IH tractor. The 2294 had a Case Power Shift trans, Case 504 engine, and a Corello front end. Case did have a factory sponsored rear end up date on the 20- 2290s, but all the updates were incorporated by the time the 2294s came out. The 2294s ran very strong, well over rated HP so the rear end rebuild was in order for the hrs. it had on it. As far as things to look for, would be any sign of antifreeze in the oil pan, make sure the shifts are crisp and precise, with no hesitation or engine drag between shifts. This tractor has electronic shift control over hydraulics, and there are micro switches, wire connections, and solenoids that can be issues at times. You should take a look at the PTO and be sure it shuts off. As I said, the 22s ran strong and had a 540-1000rpm PTO in them,so the clutches there could have be taxed as well. Loren
