I am using a Micro-start XP-10 it claims 600 amps... It has worked flawlessly on probably close to 100 starts it has took on all comers.
I sold one to a customer that has a Dodge diesel he don't drive it enoufh to keep the battery charged. After a few months his bats will be grave yard dead. He calls me he can not get the Micro to crank his truck I run over to his place install the Micro it burns the cable connection out in the micro :shock: When I was playing with it and charging it before I let him have it I though the cables fit sloppy so I think the connections were bad from the get go.
From that point on when I use one on a diesel I hook up my battery jumpers and my micro start they all have fired to life. I think asking one to start a diesel with grave yard dead battery's are asking a little much with out some help from another jumper source. I jumped his diesel off last week my tow truck along would not do it I added a Micro to the other battery it fired off... Its fired off every gas engine I have installed it on.
They are handy as a pocket on a shirt but they do have there limits I guess you will find the limit when it goes up in smoke...
