A few years I bought this 1650D off I-81 near Scranton (much closer to you I guess). The used dealer wanted $3500 and I couldn't talk him down on the phone. He had a 1750 3spd also so I thought it was worth the 3-1/2 hour ride anyhow. I had not seen the 1650 until I got there. It was ugly and I first thought ... ok this was a wasted trip. And the 1750 would not bump start after trying on a big hill. But then the guy fired up the 1650D and went down to the bottom the pasture and pulled the 1750 up that steep hill with a cable. The 1650 went by me at the top of the hill and was burning clear, and sounded great. I was sold!
I was glad I went to look at it, it's turned out to a good find. An added bonus was that about a week after I got it home, I found a name and phone number on a old receipt in the bottom of the tool box. Called the number and it was the original owner! He said the the motor had been rebuilt at about 4500 hours and said he had traded it in because the power PS leaked and there was oil in the coolant and was done with it. The oil turned out to be ATF from the trans cooler. So only minor problems.
My point is that it was overpriced and ugly but I was glad I made the trip.
