: I purchased a 42 Farmall H this spring. Just noticed one of the rear tires was looking low so I went to check the pressure. Got quite a surprise when what looked like water squerted out. Help! your input is greatly appreciated Sorry about the previous blank note...I'm new at this. The H I use has calcium in the tires and I like it. But my B doesn't and I lke that too. The reason is that the H is for work and the B is for show. No need of transporting extra weight around to a tractor show. One thing about checking the pressure is that you need a special tire gauge made for liquid-filled tractor tires. They have a Stainless Steel spring inside (I think) and they won't rust. I like to have the valve stem at 12:00 when I add air so that the fluid is less likely to come out. I don't know why the tire-changing mechanic said dangerous pressures could develop...I work at a plant that uses water and a little air to hydrostatically test pressure vessels. it is my understanding that this method is much safer than using only air, which could create a sudden FORCEFUL explosion. Hope this helps. Good luck with your H. They're a lot of fun.
