My Dad bought this one in 1972, paid extra to have them bring it Mothers Day morning as a joke, my Mom wasn't impressed! I however was, mowed, raked and plowed with this ole girl until my parents sold their home place and moved to the mountains I always wanted it and had a real good idea of where the guy lived that bought it. About 15 years ago I was riding around up in that area and decided to just look around and see if I happened to see it. I had no luck for several times. I stopped in to a little farm store in that area one day and just asked the owner if he knew anyone with a 135 right around there, he knew of two, and told me where they were. I road by the first and it wasn't it, but as I came up to the second I saw it sitting by the drive and saw the bent left radius rod that I hit a hole with. I knew I had found her! I knocked on the door and an older lady came out and I told her that it was the tractor I grew up on and would they mind if I looked at it. She told me to go ahead and that her husband would be home shortly and we could talk about it's story. When he got home and got out of his truck I could tell that he was much older and doing poorly. I entertained him with stories of how each dent and repair had happened and we had a good time. I asked if he would sell it back to me when he ever no longer needed it and he said he'd think about it when the time came. I left my name and number with him and figured I'd never hear from him. About a year later I got a call from the lady and she asked if I was still interested in buying the 135, I said I'd like to if i could afford the price. She asked that come up and talk, I found that he had passed and told he before he died to be sure I got a chance to get it back before she sold it to anyone else. She made me a very fair price and needless to say she's back home to stay. I have newer bigger tractors, but I just love working with this one better than any of them. I have a soft spot for tractors and family things, so a few years ago I tracked down and bought the wife's Dad's/Grand-Dad's 35 Deluxe that's parked beside it. Sometimes it's had to believe their 45 & 60 years old!

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed. Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that. In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on
