: I have approx. 500# liquid in each rear tire and : also approx 200# each wheel in rim weights. : Why do we want that weight in the wheels? : Is it for traction or stability? I'm assuming it : helps keep the tractor from tipping over. If so, : I would think that liquid weight riding in the : bottom of the tires would pound for pound provide : better stability than rim weights. Does that : make sense? When a tire is 90% filled, there's not much stability added. The function of the liquid is traction ballast. And then changing tread gets to be a real pain with 600 pounds of liquid that doesn't stay fixed and if you get under that tire and rim, how are you going to ever get up? If it falls over and you aren't under it how you gonna pick it back up? Gerald
