Good picture. The F-86 was a good workhorse airplane.
When I was deployed to a Nationalist Chinese Air Force base on Taiwan in 1958, the NCAF was flying U.S. built F-86's and Red China was flying Soviet MIG 17s. The two were fairly evenly matched in a dogfight with one exception; the MIG 17 could out climb an F-86. If a fight was eminent, the MIG would climb up into it, while the F-86 would enter the arena at about 40,000 feet and convert altitude into airspeed.
