I do most of my garage sale shopping on Ebay, but still nice to see something that can't be bought new anymore.
A long time ago I bought an old F450 flatbed truck to flip. It was really low mileage, but had been beat to death by careless operators.
One of the plastic grill inserts was broken, a new one was ridiculous. This was pre internet, so the search for a used one was one phone call at a time... No luck.
I had about given up, was going to try expanded metal or just take the other one out.
Going home from work one evening I stopped at a convenience store, went out the back road so I didn't have to cross a busy street at rush hour, made a couple turns, and there was a big pile of trash where someone had cleaned out the garage.
I did a double take, there was the end of a grill sticking out! Almost didn't stop, probably wrong, probably broken...
But I stopped, pulled it out. It was exactly what I needed, perfect condition!
