I have a ten year old female, had another female for 12 years, she grew up with my two kids. Different personalities for sure. First one was a real sweetheart, good with other dogs and people. The one I have now was not properly socialized with other dogs and she hates them. Very good with people but also very protective, does not want anyone sticking their hands in my truck. Took her to a trainer when she was 6 months for a consultation, his statement was "you have your hands full with that dog." He was right.
So very smart, though. They require your attention. They are not a breed for everybody.
