My FIL's 1800 was a gas tractor when they bought it. When the gas engine spun a bearing they put a diesel in it from another 1800 that had a locked up rear end. He used to do custom work around here in the 70's/early 80's before it became popular in our area. He would work ground for people plant corn and potatoes and then pick alot of corn. He lost his hand in a single row picker. My wife and brother in law grew up on that tractor.. Her uncle still uses it to make hay.
