All of these tariffs and trade talk is nothing more than posturing. Despite what some folks would like to believe, there is a market for every thing, at some price. Items like steel, aluminum, nickel, uranium, gold , potash, and oil, can all be left right in the ground, and wait till they can be sold at a profitable price. They are not perishable like agricultural products. And can be loaded onto ships, and taken to any country with a sea port. I am not so sure Canada is as dependent on only selling minerals and lumber to the USA as they once were. And killing off the dairy marketing system in place in Canada, so US dairy farmers could send milk here would only be a benefit for the first year or so, then they would all be mired in the same mess they are in now. There is only 35 million people here, WI could produce all the milk Canada could drink, it won’t fix your problem.
