: What would be HP ona 1938 J D A with powerblock; WOuld 1500 to1800 hundred be a good price It has new rear rims 80% tires good tin Can anyone help? : Don, : Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I just found my old 1957 copy of a Tractor Supply Co. fall harvest issue, There is one full page on the Power-Block add, I will type in there actaul Quote from there add, as followes. Dynamometer test of "A's" & "60's" in use on the farms showed output to be as low as 32 horsepower. We have tested both models with Power-Blocks installed and have shown oweners dynamometers rating of over 50 horsepower. (End Quate.) The add also shows a picture of a 60 John Deere pulling a four bottom plow and the caption reads as follows. Photograph above shows a precison Power-Block equiped John Deere "60" in action. Tractor is plowing in 3rd gear with four bottom 16" pull type plow to a depth of 10 1/2" in sod pasture. (End Quote.) I would say a pretty impresive add for an old two banger!! The add goes on and on and so could I but I won't. I do find it interesting and hope this will be of some help to your questions.
