Nice area! Two of my kids and a bunch of friends live nearby in Victor and Palmyra; they all like it.
Area has excellent schools, low crime, moderate traffic (and only during rush hour), lots of shopping nearby (huge Eastview Mall, Waterloo Outlets, etc), close proximity to the beautiful Finger Lakes region, world-class medical nearby at the Univ of Rochester, etc.
Downsides: Onerous property and state income and sales taxes (which applies EVERYWHERE in NY State, not just to Farmington!). And winter storms can be a challenge - though the local hwy depts and NYDOT do an outstanding job keeping roads open during even the heavy snow events.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
