We use woven geotextile fabric covered with 4-6" of small dense grade stone to build feed pads for cattle, best stuff we've ever used.
Woven geo won't tear apart like unwoven, dense grade stone here has a good amount of lime dust in it that helps the stone pack tight and shed water.
When we put in our poultry barns 11 years ago we put down a 18x950 ft main drive way across one of our fields, 100x240 parking area and two 15x300 ft drive ways between the buildings. Woven geo fabric was put down in all areas and covered with 6" of dense grade stone, we have 30 semi's per month traveling in and out and have only regraveled it one time in 11 years.
A nephew built his poultry barns 7 years ago, they talked him into using non woven geo and large #3 stone, the fabric blew out and he's had to add rock to his every year.
Google woven geotextile, it good stuff for feed lots, barn drive ways, corrals, ect.
