There are a lot of folks out there trying to dispose of things that they do not want or have the ability to keep. The ones that get me are the "free firewood" ones that are trying to get somebody to cut down and remove for free. Usually an ad like that follows a visit from a tree surgeon that told them that it would cost a couple thousand bucks to get the tree removed. Then there are the ones that would otherwise have to pay to get rid of something of no value trying to get some sucker to do their "dirty" work. Always good for a laugh!
Another fun one is the one that offers a broken TV for parts. what parts might they be? First, it is already a given that the TV does not work. Then there is the "interchangeability" issue. Parts from one brand of TV simply do not usually work with another brand. Ever notice how many brands there are? You seldom see names like RCS, Zenith, Magnavox, or Sylvania. You see names that you might only ever see in one store. Same goes for refrigerators, stoves, and most other small appliances.
So, back to more fun with Craig's list. Still better than Angie's list.

The young person asking questions received positive feedback and advice from total strangers who "told it like it is" with the care many reserve for their own kids. The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
