I have replaced several 1st and 2nd shifter forks and all were "USED"...
When I received the USED 1st and 2nd shifter forks I hung them with a piece of Mechanic wire, wrapped them with a 12 oz hammer, all RANG like a Church Bell...they were used...NO CRACKS:

1st and 2nd shifter forks failure is usually rough handling that causes it. Is the Clutch dragging at all, as that will cause a load on the transmission. Is the Clutch pedal adjusted correctly, it should have 3/8" free play under the footrest to the top of the Pedal lever when hot.
You don't always need to strip down the Transmission to get it out, just depends on how much room there is. Remove steering box and split the tractor behind the Gearbox and remove the selector rail that the selector is attached.
