I really can't see how that's fair Paul. IF I own the land and you want to use it why should I have any risks at all? That isn't how it works on any other type of property rent. Heck if I rent it as hunting land I don't get less or nothing if the tenant fails to bag anything. Don't get me wrong. If a landlord wants crop share that's up to them.
We had an old widow woman here a few years back who insisted on crop share. Mostly cause she would then try to tell the tenant exactly how to farm and what to plant.
