That's an easy (but LONG) one to answer there Kevin. You stated that you were searching online for cargo trailers. Your browser settings (and maybe your choice of browser!) are the culprit. First of all, I never use Google search engine! I use DuckDuckGo, as they do not track you or keep track of your activity. Bing has gotten dang near as bad as Google as far as tracking your "online movements", all in the name of bringing you a more enjoyable and personable internet experience. Personally, it creeps me out!!
I have only recently started using Chrome browser, but ONLY for one specific purpose. I'm a Firefox fan but do not like where they have taken the newest versions, so am using an older version. Still, Chrome streams a little bit faster than any other browser for people (like me) who have very slow internet. Once we hit a certain point of data usage each month, our internet slows so much that I can't stream from Netflix, no matter how I try! However, can still get an acceptable picture from YouTube, even on Firefox. So the only reason I use Chrome is that once our speed slows down, I found that I can stream from Amazon with an acceptable picture using Chrome. I won't use it for anything else, so they have nothing they can track from me.
Also, there are settings on your browser. You can have your browser send a "Do Not Track" request. That helps a little, but not enough. You "could" go into full-scale Private Browsing mode and have all of your cookies deleted every time you close out the browser, but then you must re-log into everything manually each time, and other (to me) nice little conveniences are taken away. So I'm somewhere in the middle.
You can also use a decent ad blocker (I use uBlock Origin). That also helps prevent Google and others from tracking your online movements. It doesn't help sites like YT who depend partially on revenue from advertisements, but I never pay attention to advertisements anyhow. The more that websites "force" you to play certain video-ads or news-stories or ???-junk, the less I'll even waste my time on that site. It bogs down my internet too bad! But, that's how the world turns -- there's advertising in magazines, on TV, along the roadways, and most everywhere else.
