T he 46 has a high speed transmission and if you oversize you do not have the power to travel in high on the tractor drive if you have much for hills. 5th in your tractor is close to 6th in the pressed frame models. 2 sizes over on a pressed frame model is just too big to work good all the way around. With the 4.5" low compression engine you have and the high speed gears you do not want to oversize. For me plowing with the 46 it was low gear with 2-12" plows, the 49 with the 4 11/16" gas engine plowing with same plow 3rd gear. that was with the 12.4 tires, if would have tried the 13.6 tire would have been down to second gear.
