Hey guys, looking for some ideas/experiences making a 3 pt cement mixer - also pictures of any that people have made
I have an old electric motor driven mixer - it is heavy, on all steel. My grandfather bought it used in the late 40's. It has mixed a lot of cement.
I have been looking for a deal on a modern, plastic barreled, light, easy to move mixer for a while. It is not a need, just waiting for the right deal to come along...
So, my heavy metal beast has sat next to my metal scrap pile for a few years...it is heavy enough that when I take a load of scrap...it never ends up on the truck...which is good because every time I need it, it works.
I was looking on craigslist this morning and someone had a home built, 3 pt mixer for $100. I was excited but looking at it...it is rough and needs a little work to function. Which makes me not want it...if I am going to do the work...why not make my own out of what I have and do a little better job...
So... any pictures of other homemade jobs?
The drive portion of my mixer is on the side of this mixer...the whole outer rim is geared...I don't know if this is ideal.

I’ve noticed a few questions in the comment section that could pertain to hydraulic cylinders so I thought we could take a short look at this real workhorse of the circuit. Cylinders are the reason for the hydraulic circuit. They take the fluid power delivered from the pump and magically change it into mechanical power. There are many types of cylinders that one might run across on a farm scenario. Each one could take a chapter in
