Phil - Company I drove for in early 1980's had one really tired L9000, Shiney 290 & 10-spd Road Ranger, think it had a Million miles on it. Ran it from Davenport to Des Moines, Iowa one day with a small load of return tires from Farmall to Firestone. Cruised right along 48-50 loaded, tailwind got me up to 55 going home empty. I said it was tired! Normally I ran one of the White RoadBoss II's ordered by Standard Forwarding, 320 hp 903 Cummins & 6-speed Spicer trans governed for 67 mph. Ran an S2200 with 290-10 speed that was almost as tired as the Louisville for about a year. The Louisville was a really nice comfortable truck to drive.
If somebody had put me in a nice new Louisville like that one I'd still have a smile on my face! Probably still be driving it too! It would be right at home next to my '96 F-250 reg cab 4wd pickup with PSD.
Interesting collection of tractors. Interesting collection of BIG rear rims & tires on some of the tractors.
