I can say that Kubota motors are rock solid. As I have owned several skid steer loaders with them. I can also say that JD parts system is second to none on delivery. I am not sure how fast Kubota's is as I have never used it.
I can tell you that the 276 motor in the 5100M is a darn good motor too. I have a JD 6400 that just turned over 19,500 hours with a 276 motor in it. Only motor work was a blow head gasket at 16,000 hours. Even with JD making be pretty mad over their dealer consolidation deals I would go with the JD over the Kubota in this case.
