Like it or not, sedans just aren't selling anymore. The number of "old people" who refuse to change and just have to have their sedans is dwindling year after year.
My folks just bought a Chevy Trax, a small crossover, and they LOVE it.
The family car was always a sedan, except for a short time during the mid 1980's when we had a Chevy Blazer, and always a rear wheel drive sedan. "Don't want no %$#@ front wheel drive piece of junk," Dad would always say.
When GM stopped making rear wheel drive sedans and the '91 Caprice finally died, they begrudgingly bought a Chevy Lumina. Well, turns out they LOVED it. They loved how the FWD car handled in the snow, no more fishtailing, just point it where you want to go.
So now they're getting up in years, and don't get around quite as well as they used to. They wanted something that they could "fall in" and "fall out" of. Sedan's too low, gotta climb out. Truck's too high, gotta climb in. Chevy Trax was juuuuuuust right.
It also gets 27MPG driving around town.
The message here is that if my folks can be convinced to try something different, maybe you can too. You might actually like it.
