I realize it is manly to need the biggest highest hp pickup ever produced, and I'm not right in the head to say it, but the 1/2 ton and smaller pickups would be a lot nicer for me if they had a little less hp and a little more mpg. I always liked my V6 Dakota, had as much power as I needed to drive tot he fleet and farm store and get 500 lbs of stuff. It also was enough to pull a 22 foot field cultivator home at 25 mph.
I understand, big livestock trailers and such, need more guts, but most of the time most of us could use a nice roomy pickup with a little better mileage.
It does appear the govt has mandated away the passenger car.....
Really, look to the future of passenger cars? It will all be Uber, driverless vehicles, we don't need to own a car, just tap an app and have one drive up. Uber type service will have fleets of driverless cars in a grid of where they are mostly needed, and dropping off and picking people up like taxi cabs but much more integrated. They will basically be personalized commuter trains, one car at a time. The cars can be used much more efficiently 24/7, than sitting in our garages or a parking lot 22 hours of the day, wasted asset. Don't need the large 3 stall garage. Mega savings all around in asset investment that isn't used all that many hours a day.
Those of us in the country are going to be a little lost, as it doesn't work sow ell 'out here' but that is the direction of transportation for the city dwellers
It will be interesting to get those driverless cars to take you ice fishing, tho. Can you see the computer trying to comprehend someone wanting it to drive on a lake?
