Dept heads would come into County Council meetings needing NEW printers , computers, phone systems , and other junk , If they brought their company representative we would ask the dept head how old the obsolete stuff was ,usually get a answer 3-5 yrs,Now Obsolete and worn Out . Then I would ask How Much The trade in Value for OUR JUNK was?. Naturally the answer was (Nothing ) ..Around that time I would KINDLY tell the salesman to Go back to His Company and tell His Boss , That ON MY FARM ,I have a DC Case that usually sits outside in all weather ,it always starts , runs good, works all day long, and if there are any problems with adjustments or repairs , I can usually Do Them With a Vise grip , A screw driver and a Hammer that i keep in the Toolbox on my tractor . Although the DC is a little awkward at times, It Is Nearly compatable with everything on my Farm,And will get the job done as well as any new tractor today ,.. THE DC Case was built in 1953 and sold for around $1800 new .Furthermore ,I bought the tractor used for 1200 dollars 20 yrs ago , when it was over 40 yrs old . . and although it is now 65 years old , It is not ready for retirement And could easily command the 1200 price with a little sprucing up. "YOU GUYS NEED TO MAKE STUFF LIKE THAT, THINGS That LAST " , is how i finish my comment That Statement Leaves them Speechless.
