I try to turn my Alfalfa down after 9 cuts. 3 cuts for 3 years, then plant corn silage on the field, after smothering it with cow manure. I find if I leave it for the fourth year, there is a heavy yield drag due to inflation of Dandelions. I thank the no till crowd for the wild expansion of dandelions . Because they do nothing about Dandelion until June. By then the Dandelions have all gone to seed , and blew all over the county.
