You just don't know how a COM transmission works Think of it as your PU with auto transmission. You put it into gear at an IDOL and then give it throttle and it will start moving. When you pull the lever down on the dash, of your 411B, it locks the rear of the converter to the flywheel, making a direct link to the 8spd tranny and you did not give the converter time to build torque and supply rotary torque to the transmission, making the wheels turn.
