It has everything to do with the Federal Reserve creating digital "money" and pouring it into the economy. Inflation is an increase in the money supply and rising prices are the result. Gold and silver are money. When you compare the prices of things years ago vs today you will notice that almost nothing has gone up in relation to gold. When you bought that T model for $500 gold was $20 per ounce. That is 25 ounces of gold. With gold at $1,400 per ounce that model T would be $35,000 in today's dollar. To keep it tractor related, the same principle applies. If gold were still $20 per ounce, that shiny new tractor would be $1,000. Matter of fact, with modern manufacturing, it would be a lit cheaper. That is why the T model got cheaper every year. Debtors love inflation. The fact that the US of A is the largest debtor in the world guarantees that they will encourage more inflation. Why, with bonds at 2% and inflation at 3%, the Feds make money.
