We have a Troy Bilt Horse that might be as old as I am (46). I remember Dad using it when I was about 7-8 in Minnesota. I doubt he bought it new, never bought anything new. Then it followed us out to Montana and I put a lot to time on that thing each year. Dad always put out a big garden and I always had to till it. Before he passed, he made a smaller garden but used it to till each spring and then he would hoe weeds since he didn't leave row space for the tiller.
Last month I was at the farm in Montana. We drug the tiller out of the shed, aired the tires, checked the oil and dumped in fresh gas. Three pulls and she was running again! I tilled the garden and planted what I thought would survive until I get moved there at the end of June. Hope it isn't a mass of weeds by then. It has a Tecumseh engine, needs a muffler and smokes a little but still had plenty of power. Troy Bilts make a great planting bed.

The advice is timeless... so although it isn't necessarily antique tractor related, it will be prominently displayed in our archives to honor those who have the courage to ask and those who have the courage to respond in an honest, positive manner.
