All of these hidden numbers are for a reason. Way back when it was very prevalent to take a really smashed up vehicle that was on the way to the junk yard and rebuild it. They would swap around all kinds of parts including the speedo. Then resell it with another title. They would even resurface that little area on the block and restamp the numbers. Very dificult today because of dedicated computer modules, car radios, and computer internet tracking. A modern car today, you get a new sparkplug and every one knows it.
