You can flush it with diesel or solvent. Think there is more than one drain plug, be sure to remove them all.
Check the shifter boot, that is where water gets in, especially if it stays outside.
When refilling, fill it through the round cover. If you do fill through the plug on top of the transmission, fill it very slowly, or oil will go out the front seal into the clutch. It takes time for the oil to transfer from the transmission to the rear cases.
That originally had 90 weight mineral oil. That will work in warm climates, but for cold the hydraulics will slow down until it warms the oil. An alternative is 15w-40 engine oil.
