Snake oil salesmen have been around forever. But the scams today are very sophisticated and technically complex. Most of us can not even adjust our heat pump system, so we are ripe for scams. It is odd that when the scammers are out in force, so many people want to reduce the laws against these crimes and rely on the local sheriff to deal with it.
