They make an algaecide for that, it might be here on YT. I dont know your pump but it should have a very fine mesh screen on the inlet side. Its the last guard for bad stuff getting to the pump. Dieseltech would know about your pump. There are also water removers you can add to fuel to keep water out and its best to top off your tank after every use, its lets less moist air in as the tank cools down.
