Lookyou can set herte on the computer all day long and listen to this guy and that guy on WHY it will not open the door on the baler . First thing i do when i get a call on a low performing hyd. system is I run tests on it with the proper test equipment . and that is called a FLOW RATER , it not only checks out put pressure it also checks the flow rate of the pump at specified pressure and oil temp. I can bypass all valving and only test the pump , then we can move on to pressure releif's and such. Then ya come down to the fact that you are tryen to run and older tractor that never did have that great of hyd system out put on something newer that requires more pressure due to smaller hyd cylinder Dia. . Firs off IF the pump is good then it's gong to put out pressure and volume up to design of the pump . That could be 12 GPM up to 17 GPM Pressure wise the pump is stupid and can build pressure till it blows it's self apart or twists or breaks the drive driving that pump. Next stop it the pressure regulator then the flow control . Now due to old age i gave up keeping every spec on every Farmall I H tractors hyd system in my head and i have to go to the BOOKS to be correct on spec.'s for the model . But let just say your system in good shape will do 1500 psi that may not get the job done , but say ya have a 706-806 with a still stock system that is 1750 psi and it will work the gate . same deal we have with the John Deere 7000 no till plater , my buddy who is almost die in the wool Deere but can't afford Deere tractors wanted to use the OLD 720 John Deere to plant with only to find out that that tractor with the old style hyd system and low pressure would not even lift and empty planter let lone when fully loaded . Even the 706 and my 806 will not just POP it up at the end of the row due to the fact that when that planter came out Deere had made there tractors with a higher pressure hyd system above even what our 706 and 806 had factory . 1750 for the Farmalls back then and Deeres 2250 or something like that . SOOOOOOO what you need to do is get someone that has a FLOW RATER and that can do the proper test of the system then you know where to go and what needs repaired or replaced and just stuff a gauge into and out let really tells ya nothing .
