No email turns off a lot of good buyers as well. Somw like me cannot hear good enough to do dealing over the phone. You can tell just as much about a buyer on an email as a phone call. I have not tried to call on several items that were within my price and range to get there but would not attempt a call that I was almost positive that I would not be able to understand a word they were saying. I have never sold anything on craigs list. And I have had sellers that I gave up on because they would not try to answer my questions.
