As you go through Moline and Davenport, you can hunt up the FARMALL PLANT in Rock Island where all the BIG Farmall tractors were built. Still parts of the plant still there, like the Main Gate, Motor Building, the building where 2+2's were finish assembled, far west end of the plant. Lots of the old pre-1920's vintage part of the plant has been torn down. You might be able to find a FARMALL BRICK.
Take I-80 to I-74 west, to downtown Moline, get off on last Illinois exit before going across the Mississippi River. They are building a new bridge across river, traffic is congested, subject to lane closures, but still passable. Get down to 3rd Avenue Moline, go past John Deere Commons, the Pavillion, The TaxSlayer Convention Center, may still have I-Wireless Convention Center on the signs, keep going WEST on 3rd Avenue, Deere Seeding Systems will be on the right, when you have to turn Left and go over 3-4 sets of railroad tracks, you are right in front of the Farmall Plant Main Gate exit. You had to enter about two blocks north, closer to the river, or actually Sylvan Slough.
If you go over the tracks, take the immediate first right turn, about half a block down on the left will be the old Farmall Plant office building. It's just past the IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union.
I could tell you how to get to the old IH East Moline combine plant but it's completely gone, last truckload hauled away in 2006.
