My driveway is a mile long and the phone line that was put in back in the early 80s runs over 2 miles. At one time there where 7 other people on this phone line/service but now I am the only one so not likely to even get fiber optics to my place unless I want to spend a lot of $$ to do so. Shoot back in the 80s when I got my phone if it had not been for 2 of my neighbors wanting phone service it would have cost me $300 to get a phone but since they wanted phones also it cost each of us $100
