Whee! We got 3/4 inch of rain this morning here in the great Southeastern desert of SC. More possible. Should keep the pasture growing for another week. Saturday I helped a neighbor put up about 1/2 mile of single strand electric fence. His cows had been getting out every day for the last week, walking about 1/4 mile through woods to a field with 3 year old planted pines with a lot of grass in them. He has had cataract surgery and glacoma and didn't need to be working on a fence, but didn't need to chase cows either. I had been helping put the cows back in and now maybe they will stay in. 20-30 head out of his herd had been getting out near a busy highway. KEH
