stuck brake

I have a Case 580 CK TLB & the left side rear brake will stick on if I apply the brake while backing up & I cant go forward again until I backup to disengae the brake on the left side & then I can go forward again. The same thing happens in opposite order. I have to go in the opposite direction from when the brake was last applied to disengage it. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what to look for or what the fix might be. As usual, any suggestions are very appriciated.
