I got a slow leaker as I mentioned in past posts, and in a week of research I found a single in SD, wife and I drove out got it on a rainy day. Wife really enjoyed seeing the Corn Palace and some parts of SD north of there her family used to visit.
The next spring before field work I found a guy in central Iowa that had building and building full of military stuff, he had like new rims with 90% military tires on them, a whole building full. Wife and I drove down before spring work. Funny story, this was before my iPad, I don't have a cell phone to this day. We had printed maps, we were an hour early so we stopped at a big farm fleet store about a 1/2 hour away, opened the pickup doors, and the 25mph winds that day blew the maps out of the pickup, they were scattering across the parking lot. Big old me on my farmer boots was running the 100 (several 100....) yard dash to try to catch them, they were heading for a busy interstate and piles of garbage blowing around, I'd never find them.....
Wife hopped in the pickup and caught up to me the other side of the parking lot, I was sitting on a curb wheezing so much I couldn't talk, I just held up the 3 papers in my hand. She felt so bad for me she bought me a shake. We still joke about the security tape that is being played at that store, "See look at the out of shape Minnesotan sprinting through the parking lot in leather work boots....."
Anyhow Neither seller cared about the rims, same with other sellers I found; you have to scope it out and follow up and see what you find. With litch a picture will catch the rim pattern.
This isn't a buy new down at the tire store and deliver in 3 days deal for the old stuff. I figured that out when I went to my good tire dealer coop, and he did 5 minutes of that kind of research and kinda shrugged his shoulders, said well there is a set in Florida....
It's a treasure hunt, and will end up costing $60 a piece, a little travel, and maybe a fun story to tell your friends.

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
